How it works

Three steps between a stream and a video.

Upload your VOD

Drop in the recording of your stream, or import it from Twitch. That is the whole job on your side.

VodSmith cuts it

You get a full, edited video back, styled the way your game's biggest videos are cut, plus any Shorts and extra videos you asked for. We email you when it is ready.

Post it, or polish it

Publish as-is, adjust anything in the editor, or take the whole cut into Resolve or Premiere.

Why VodSmith

The real video, not clip scraps.

Long-form, not clip scraps

Clip tools stop at thirty-second verticals. VodSmith gives you the real video, the kind people watch to the end, and the shorts to go with it, out of a stream you already recorded.

Edited the way your game gets edited

We studied how the biggest videos in each game are cut, then built game-specific engines to match. Yours comes back styled the way that audience expects, every time. Real engines, not an AI guessing what mattered.

Change anything you want

You get a video you can still change, not a locked file you're stuck with. Recut it in a few clicks, or take the whole thing into Resolve or Premiere.

One stream, more videos

One VOD, several finished videos.

Ask for everything in the same order. Every video and Short comes back finished and opens in the editor, where you can trim, reorder, add music, text and captions, change the framing, and download up to 1080p.

Edit it by saying what you want

Type the change you want and VodSmith makes the edit. Keep it or undo it, and every earlier version stays in your history, so you never lose a cut you liked.

Come back for more

Your stream is already analyzed, so you can order more Shorts or another video from it later without uploading it again, for as long as the project is available.

Shorts

The shorts come out of the same upload.

Order Shorts with your video, or come back for more later. Pick a style and each one comes back as a finished vertical video at full 1080p.

Story Short

One play, told from the setup to the payoff, so it makes sense to someone who never saw the stream. It works whatever role you play.

Hype Moment

Your biggest play, cut fast, with punch-ins and sound on the hits. Short, loud and made to loop.

Custom AI Short

Write one sentence about the Short you want and VodSmith makes it from your stream, for the moment you already know you want to post.

Let VodSmith pick the best moments, choose them yourself from a ranked list with a preview of each, or give it the exact minutes. Every Short in an order uses a different moment. Each one has its own price, shown before anything starts, and is only charged once it is delivered. A Short that fails costs nothing.

Games

Built for your game.

Games with a dedicated engine get the full gameplay-narrative cut. Everything else, game or not, works in narrative mode.

Gameplay-narrative cut · dedicated engine

Cut around how a League match actually plays out, the kills, the fights, the objectives and the flow between them. This is the engine behind the demo reel above, and more game engines are planned.

Every other stream

Narrative mode

Any game without its own engine yet, or no game at all. Upload the stream and the narrative cut comes back.

Questions, answered.

What do I actually get back?

A full, edited video made from your VOD, ready to post. In the same order you can ask for more: an extra long-form version described in your own words, and finished vertical Shorts. You get the editor for every one of them, so you can change anything before you publish. Later, you can come back to the same VOD for more without uploading it again.

Do I get vertical Shorts too?

Yes, from the same upload. Order them with your video, or later from a VOD you already uploaded. There are three styles: a Story Short tells one play from the setup to the payoff, whatever role you play; a Hype Moment cuts your biggest play fast, with punch-ins and sound; a Custom AI Short is made from a sentence you write. Let VodSmith pick the moments, choose them from a ranked list with a preview of each, or give it the exact minutes, and every Short in an order uses a different moment. Each Short comes back as a full 1080p vertical video you can edit. Each one has its own price, shown before anything starts, and is only charged once it is delivered. If a Short fails, it costs nothing.

Does finding highlights only work on League?

No. It works across games. When a game has its own VodSmith engine, that engine adds what it knows about the game on top. Custom AI Shorts and extra videos work on any game. On League, Story Shorts and Hype Moments are ready with your video; on other games they open up once your best moments have been found.

What quality do the videos come out at?

Up to the resolution you recorded at, to a maximum of 1080p, at 30 or 60 frames per second. If your source qualifies, "Original" is offered and the export keeps your exact frame size and rate. Shorts render at full 1080p vertical.

Which games does it work with?

League of Legends first. Each game gets its own engine built for how that game's biggest videos are edited, and more games are planned.

Do I have to edit anything myself?

No. The video comes back finished. If you want to adjust it, the editor is included, and you can export the cut to DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro to finish it there.

How long does it take?

You upload, we process, and you get an email the moment your video is ready. No need to keep the tab open.

What does it cost?

Plans start at $19.99 a month and include monthly plan credits; unused ones roll over for one extra month. You can also buy credit packs any time; credit pack credits never expire. See the pricing page for exactly what each plan includes.

Do unused credits roll over?

Yes. Your plan gives you a set number of monthly plan credits at the start of each billing month (300 on Creator, 675 on Pro). Any of those you do not use roll over for one extra billing month, so Creator can bank up to 600 monthly plan credits and Pro up to 1,350. Credit pack credits are separate: they can be added on top infinitely and never expire. VodSmith automatically uses the credits that expire soonest first.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The Creator plan comes with a 14-day free trial. Add a card, pay $0 today, and you get 80 credits to make real videos with (enough to finish a full-length edit), the full editor and exports, no watermark. After 14 days the plan renews at $19.99/month unless you cancel first; cancel from Manage billing at any time before then and you are never charged. Trial projects can be up to 12 hours per stream, 3 projects at a time. One trial per person. Everything you buy after the trial follows the refund policy.

What happens to my footage?

Projects are available for 14 days after creation and finished videos for 30 days, then deleted. Export what you want to keep. You can export or delete your account and its data at any time. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
